CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Just one week after a horrifying incident at a bustling intersection in Clarksville, the authorities have taken a significant step forward in the pursuit of justice. They’ve arrested a man on murder charges related to the tragic shooting that shook the community.

The dreadful incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, at the crossroads of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and Holiday Drive. The shocking event sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, and residents were left in disbelief, prompting a temporary lockdown in the area.

The victim, a 17-year-old teenage boy behind the wheel of a vibrant red Dodge Charger, was struck by gunfire during the incident. Tragically, his passing wasn’t officially confirmed until Tuesday, September 12. Thankfully, there was a 17-year-old female passenger accompanying him in the Charger, and she miraculously emerged unscathed from the traumatic event, according to reports from officials.

In the aftermath of this heart-wrenching incident, dedicated detectives worked tirelessly, pursuing leads to crack the case. Their relentless efforts bore fruit when they identified 26-year-old Quantavious Golliday as a suspect in this tragic shooting.

Authorities revealed that Golliday had a violent criminal history, having previously been convicted of aggravated assault and Schedule II drug offenses back in 2017. He was already on law enforcement’s radar and had been arrested for a probation violation warrant just a day before the shooting, on Tuesday, September 5. Additionally, he faced other pending charges in Montgomery County Circuit Court and General Sessions Court.

The relentless pursuit of justice culminated in the arrest of Quantavious Golliday for first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. This pivotal moment occurred shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, at a business establishment on Providence Boulevard. The arrest, made in collaboration with Clarksville detectives and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) agents, signifies a significant step towards bringing closure to this tragic case.

In a further development, Golliday faces additional charges, including possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, possession of prohibited weapons (brass knuckles), and involvement in the manufacturing, delivery, and sale of a controlled substance. Law enforcement officials revealed that Golliday was found in possession of various narcotics, including fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine.
