Ryan Tannehill’s Injury and Uncertain Return

During the fourth quarter of the Tennessee Titans’ 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, their quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, had to exit the game due to an ankle injury.

Although Tannehill had been listed as questionable, he did not return to the game, allowing backup quarterback Malik Willis to take over for the remaining plays.

After the game, Titans’ head coach Mike Vrabel stated that Tannehill was undergoing evaluation, and the situation concerning his diagnosis remained uncertain.

It’s worth noting that Tannehill was seen using crutches after the game.

Tannehill expressed, “Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game, and it’s never a pleasant experience, especially when they carry some significance. We’ll have a clearer picture once we review the MRI and all the diagnostic information.”

He continued, “It’s frustrating. You invest so much effort and dedication, and then to encounter an injury like this is truly disheartening.”

During the game, Tennessee’s starting quarterback injured his right ankle earlier, had it taped up, and re-entered the match. However, following a third-quarter interception, he did not return to the field.

Before his exit from the game, Tannehill faced significant challenges, managing only 8 completions out of 16 attempts for 76 yards, an interception, and a disappointing 37.5 QB rating.

Malik Willis stepped in and, in a shortened appearance, completed 4 of 5 passes for 74 yards but also endured four sacks.

With this loss, the Titans’ record dropped to 2-4, marking their second consecutive defeat and a total offensive output of 233 yards. Tannehill’s ankle injury appeared to exacerbate Tennessee’s offensive struggles.
