Google’s own Jon Mueller has said that attempting to provide a good user experience is essential, but if it’s not successful, Google won’t grant any ranking favors in its search results. At 9:29 a.m. office hour, he stated, “What’s not important for Google is that a website is trying to provide a good page experience to users, but rather, it’s about actually providing a good page experience to users.”

Having good intentions and expertise in working on a webpage can be valuable, but it doesn’t mean that Google takes it lightly. Google looks not at the actions you’re trying to take based on outputs and results, but at what you’ve actually accomplished.

Remember, all that glitters may not be gold. Page experience and core web vitals are a minor ranking factor that probably won’t significantly alter your true ranking on Google search.

The question was for Google, that does a website is trying to provide a good user experience considering link prefetch, pre-render, DNS resolution, etc?”

The response was, “When those techniques are used properly to uplift your users’ experience, it will reflect in the marks of real users for core web vitals, such like it’s rated in a good search.”

“when a website is attempting to provide a good page experience to users, but if it’s actually delivering a good page experience to users”, that is most important to Google.

Make sure what you’re implementing is effective.
