Manhunt Underway for Murder Suspect David Maynard Across States

In a chilling turn of events, a multi-state search is now in full swing for David Maynard, a man wanted on a murder charge in Lawrence County, Ohio. The entire situation is sending shockwaves through communities on both sides of the border as authorities intensify their efforts to bring Maynard to justice.

It all began when the Ironton Police Department responded to a harrowing call of shots fired on a fateful Friday. What they encountered upon their arrival would send shivers down anyone’s spine – a lifeless body, and a woman in dire straits. The victim was identified as 78-year-old Donald Wood, who also happened to be Maynard’s stepfather.

Ironton Police Chief Dan Johnson described the gruesome scene, stating that a 39-year-old woman had been bound with cords. Officers acted swiftly to free her from this terrifying ordeal, but sadly, they couldn’t save Mr. Wood.

The list of charges against Maynard is nothing short of shocking. It includes not only the murder charge but also kidnapping, tampering with evidence, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of firearms by a prohibited person. With such a grave set of accusations against him, it’s no wonder that authorities are determined to track him down.

The search for Maynard intensified when he was spotted in neighboring Kentucky on a Saturday. The Kentucky State Police joined the pursuit, and the situation took a more ominous turn. It’s believed that Maynard abandoned his vehicle in Carter County, Kentucky, and committed a series of chilling abductions.

According to Trooper Shane Goodall, the suspect first abducted a woman at a rest stop along I-64. From there, he took her to an undisclosed location and swapped vehicles, abducting another woman in the process. While the first victim managed to free herself and summon help, the identity of the second abducted woman remains unknown, as does the vehicle she was taken in.

As the manhunt continues, the authorities have cautioned the public that David Maynard is to be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Under no circumstances should anyone approach him. Instead, they urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact 911 or reach out to the Kentucky State Police Post 14.

In this tense and unsettling saga spanning multiple states, the search for David Maynard continues, leaving communities in Lawrence County, Ohio, and Kentucky on high alert. It’s a chilling reminder that justice must prevail in the face of such heinous acts.
