Homicide Suspect Arrested After SWAT Standoff in McKeesport: Developing Story
In a developing story, a homicide suspect found himself in a tense situation before finally being arrested following a short SWAT standoff in McKeesport on Thursday. The Allegheny County police had been on the hunt for 42-year-old Edwin Wiley-Biggs in connection with a deadly shooting in Clairton that occurred just last month.
Detectives tracking Wiley-Biggs’ movements eventually located him at a residence on Strawberry Way in McKeesport on a Thursday afternoon. However, when officers initially called on him to surrender, he refused to comply, prompting the deployment of the SWAT team.
Fortunately, the situation didn’t escalate further. Wiley-Biggs decided to surrender peacefully just a short while later, allowing the authorities to take him into custody without further incident.
Wiley-Biggs now faces grave charges related to the homicide of 51-year-old Victor Musgrove. The tragic incident unfolded when Musgrove was discovered shot in the chest inside a vehicle on Miller Avenue after police had responded to a crash report on the night of August 25. Despite efforts to save him, Musgrove was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
With his arrest, Wiley-Biggs’ immediate future involves being held at the Allegheny County Jail, where he will await a preliminary arraignment. The successful resolution of this case serves as a testament to the dedication and diligence of the Allegheny County police force in pursuing justice for the victim and their relentless efforts to bring homicide suspects like Edwin Wiley-Biggs to justice.
