This unfortunate event occurred while an LMPD officer, identified as Brandon Haley, was conducting a routine traffic stop. Shockingly, shots rang out from a nearby residence, turning a seemingly routine situation into a dangerous one.
Officer Brandon Haley, a dedicated member of the Louisville Metro Police Department since 2021, was the target of the gunfire. At the time, he was not partnered with another officer, as both he and Colin Billotto were operating as solo officers during this incident.
In response to the escalating situation, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team swiftly arrived at the scene, creating a tense and complex environment. After hours of intense efforts, four individuals were taken into custody by law enforcement.
